49 Days of constructive AAP government

Here is the list of achievement of AAP govt in 49 days Page on firstpost.com

Now lets look into the achievement one by one. Obviously the number of achievement is quite low because half of the time of govt spent during protest on road and remaining half in newsroom and press conferences to convince same media who as per AAP is paid by Ambanis :

Free supply of 667 litres of water daily for households with metered connections. Arvind Kejriwal after he became CM : The problem is that only 30% of household has metered connection and most of these houses spend significantly more than 1000 litre so it would not help them. To be honest, I have not met a single person yet who said that this policy helped him. Though putting a lot of curb on water mafia without first giving solution to water issues of state led to lot of suffering by lot of Delhi resident like in Dwarka region and other slum areas

Fifty percent subsidy in electricity bills for households which consume up to 400 units of power a month : The govt promise was to fund for this electricity discount by reducing widespread corruption in electricity department but in reality it was funded by tax payer money . So atleast for me, this decision was against their poll promise. I would like my tax money to be used for more efficient purpose

* No red or blue beacons on official cars, bringing an end to ‘VIP culture’ : This was done as per orders from court and it was done across country. Some of the state like Delhi, J&K, Karnataka etc publicized their action while most other found useless PR as it was to follow court order

: All government schools surveyed for infrastructure deficiency and given Rs.1 lakh each for immediate repairs : One size fits all has been the issue with govt all the time. Some schools were in really bad shape where 1 lakh could not even solve 1% of the problem for example school with dilapidated toilet. Never understood the purpose of survey if same amount was to be given to all. Still welcome move overall as public school definitely needs more fund

Some 24,000 people exempted from paying 50 percent of their power bills during the period they took part in an AAP campaign against inflated electricity bills : This is very clearly unconstitutional move. Court has already given verdict on this so no comment

 * Launched anti-corruption and nursery admission helplines. : Great initiative. Anti corruption helpline has not helped many people in absolute number but still a good start

New permits given to 5,500 autos : Step in right direction but Kejriwal ignored the plight of common man and agreed to most of the demand of auto driver. They are already harassing people and now got right to do that

 * Registered first information reports (FIR) against former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in irregularities in the preparations for the 2010 Commonwealth Games : This is wrong information in the article. FIR was registered in case related to CWG but Sheila not named in that case. This even after AK's announcement during election that he has ready proof of some 350 pages against Sheila and case should be registered within 5 days of him taking power. Very clear U turn from AAP. FIR was filed against sheila in Jal board issue but that was clearly a face saver ploy. Every legal expert knows that Sheila cant be even touched in the cases against her. At best some clerk or a lowly bureaucrat will get sacrificed after paying him something.

and Petroleum Minister Veerappa Moily, former minister Murli Deora and Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani for allegedly colluding to inflate natural gas prices and raising power bills : This political gimmickry still has some takers. The fact is case against price rise is already in court and forget about court, no one can even chargesheet any of these 3 guys. I have written in detail on gas price in my other post also

Ordered audit of Delhi’s three power distribution companies : This could have given result, though I am not sure. But running away from govt led to this audit turn to useless. Only if he had stayed for 3-4 months then we would have known impact of this
